Wells v. City of Boulder

The City of Boulder banned oil and gas extraction within city limits for more than eight years, during a time when the price of oil was at historic highs. This deprived mineral owners of their property without just compensation, which violates the Fifth Amendment of the U.S. constitution. If Boulder wants to treat people’s property as if the City owns it, they should have the courtesy to purchase it first.
